Our Official Opening Day

On Saturday 16 March 2019 Worthing Hockey Club (WHC), one of the founder members of Sussex County Hockey Association since 1889, was proud to welcome players, members and over 50 guests and friends to officially open the new clubhouse at The Angmering School.

WHC representative, and part of the build team who spent many hours and time building the clubhouse, Steven Bird kicked off proceedings addressing all of the guests and thanking all for attending.

Past WHC President and player Robin Carr took the time to thank the fantastic support of the club sponsors; Heaton House, Direct Blinds, Flude Commercial, Block Wealth Management, Dennis Watkins, Charles Kirk, Charterhouse, HD Tribe Ltd, Noori’s, Michael Jones & Co, Regatta, Frontier Pitt, The Argus and Sussex Hockey. He welcomed special guests Councillor John Oldfield, Lyle Acott of The Argus, Rt. Hon. Nick Herbert MP, Simon Liley Headmaster of The Angmering School with Luke Taylor, England and GB hockey player to mark the occasion. 

He was joined by Councillor John Oldfield, Lyle Acott of The Argus, Rt. Hon. Nick Herbert MP and Simon Liley Headmaster of The Angmering School to cut the ribbon and mark the occasion before all heading back inside the clubhouse to enjoy a buffet lunch.
