If you are a UK Taxpayer please take a few minutes to read the following and consider if you can help support your club in this way:
What is it?
Gift Aid is a UK tax incentive to facilitate tax-effective giving by individuals to charities or community amateur sports clubs (CASCs) like Worthing Hockey Club.
How Does It Work?
Your club subs are structured to include an element that is a donation. The amount of the donation element varies from year to year according to the club’s financial position. If you are a UK taxpayer your subs will have been paid out of taxed income. As a CASC we can claim back the tax paid on the donation element at no cost to you.
Why Should I Bother?
The club is claiming back tax that would otherwise go to HMRC. In the current tough financial climate with rising pitch fees etc, this additional income is vital to help the club maintain its programme while mitigating against future price increases to members.
What Do I Need To Do?
You simply need to sign a simple one-off declaration form – available below, or at the clubhouse, or from the membership secretary.
You do NOT have to reveal any personal tax information.
Your form remains valid until you leave the club; once completed you only need to let us know if:
- you change your name
- you change your address
- you cease to be a taxpayer
